Internship Program at RRC
Interning at RRC is an excellent opportunity for students to gain hands-on engineering experience in the Renewable Energy industry while using knowledge and skills acquired in school. Our interns also grow personally and professionally as they work and learn from dynamic engineering teams making a real impact with solar and wind energy projects that facilitate the energy transition and improve people’s lives worldwide.
RRC has been one of the earliest entrants in the renewables sector and helped to design over 52 GW of installed wind and solar capacity in the U.S. In a collaborative and supportive environment, our interns interact with and learn from some of the industry’s most experienced and knowledgeable engineers.

Department Orientation
Each intern takes part in an in-depth review of departmental functions and activities. Interns also learn how these activities interact with the work they’ll perform.
The department manager or a team lead conducts the department orientation.
Progress Report
Due to the short-term nature of interns’ assignments and in compliance with the reporting requirements of their respective schools, department managers provide a narrative progress report at the close of each month of the internship. In addition, a copy of the monthly progress report is sent to RRC’s HR department for record-keeping and reporting purposes.
Final Report and Off-boarding
In the week an intern’s assignment ends, the department manager provides a final progress report and any report required by the educational institution the student attends. In addition, RRC’s HR department schedules an off-boarding exit interview to be conducted on the day preceding the intern’s last day of work.
RRC Indirect Cost Policy for Research Grants
RRC research grant policy does not include indirect costs in the project budget. Indirect costs are general overhead and administrative expenses of the applicant organization. Examples of allowed funding are direct costs related to the research proposal, such as consumables, salaries of research staff, and related travel and publication costs. However, indirect costs such as tuition, university fees, facility expenses, equipment, administration, and IT support are not allowed.
