Ken Ripper, PE

As RRC President and member of the Board of Directors, Ken is responsible for the direction and coordination of operational activities for the organization in accordance with the company’s strategic plans, goals, and objectives. Ken works closely with his fellow board members as well as the officers, directors, and managers in strategic planning, communications, and execution of the RRC business plan. He promotes and fosters RRC’s commitment to the company’s vision and values, safety, and execution of objectives. Ken’s specialties include executive leadership, project management, construction management, consulting, and project engineering with proficiency in the electric power and renewable energy industries.


Ken Sapien, BS, EM
Oil & Gas Industry Lead
Midland, TX

Ken has a degree in Engineering Management, with particular expertise in the area of construction materials. This experience has proven especially helpful as Ken manages the initial phase of new CMT projects and office operations. Ken’s varied experience includes geotechnical and construction observation and inspections for all sizes of commercial, municipal, and residential projects, including extensive experience with highway and power plant facilities. As a founding member of RRC and Industry Lead, Ken is responsible for initiating the sales effort, managing sales team activities, securing and supporting executive communication, developing the appropriate business value message, and securing each sale with the appropriate contracts and agreements. Ken is also in charge of RRC’s surveying operations, which includes managing  projects, marketing endeavors, and proposal execution.


Chong “Bill” Bong, PE
Business Development Director
Round Rock, TX

Bill is one of the founding Principals of RRC and oversees company finances. With a geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing background, he has worked in the power and energy industry for over 10 years. Bill is responsible for the financial planning and budgeting of the overall firm and oversees business development and expansion efforts. Since founding RRC, Bill and others have positioned the firm as experts in the energy market.


Mohammed H. Abusalih, PE
Renewable Energy Industry Lead
Round Rock, TX

As one of the founding members of RRC, Mohammed H. Abusalih has gained considerable engineering and project management experience for renewable energy projects across the United States. In addition, Mohammed has extensive engineering experience in transportation-related projects, public works, and commercial developments. His responsibilities include business development, client management, and overall project management. Mohammed’s proficiency in the field and tailored approach to each project has proved his commitment and dedication to ensuring high levels of execution and quality of deliverables, resulting in many satisfied and repeat renewable energy clients.


Angela Dorf, PLS
Senior Project Manager
Tualatin, OR

Angela is RRC’s Renewable Industry Senior Project Manager. She is an experienced project manager and project surveyor with a solid foundation in the power industry due to her extensive experience in the utility, substation, urban land, solar, and wind fields. Her previous roles as project manager have ranged from design to construction projects. Other aspects of her career have allowed her to gain valuable experience in technical project requirements, account management, and client management.


Ben Krause, PE
Structural Group Manager
Maple Grove, MN

Ben Krause is one of the founding members of RRC and is responsible for managing the structural engineering group. His engineering background has been primarily involved with the execution of industrial-scale wind turbine foundation designs. Ben has been involved in over 200 wind farm projects amounting to approximately 26,000 MW of wind energy across the United States and Canada from coast to coast. Ben has experience with the design requirements for over 25 turbine manufacturers and approximately 115 different turbine models.


Cheng-Wei “Joseph” Chen, Ph.D.
Geotechnical Laboratory Group Manager
Round Rock, TX

Joseph is RRC’s Geotechnical Laboratory Manager. His responsibilities include overseeing operation of RRC’s geotechnical lab including technician training, quality control, equipment management and compliance/accreditations. His work involves measuring soil-engineering properties including high-end geotechnical tests such as advanced CU and CD triaxial compression/extension (i.e. 6-inch triaxial testing apparatus), direct shear, 1-D incremental (ILT), constant-rate-of-strain (CRS) consolidation tests, and evaluation of shear strength behavior using the SHANSEP method. The method provides stress history and undrain strength profiles according to the imposed field conditions through performance of numerous laboratory tests.


Edward Brannan, PE
CMT Group Manager
Round Rock, TX

Ed is an RRC Associate. Ed began his professional career as a field technician while working toward his Masters of Engineering degree. He has inspected and tested soils, concrete, and steel for nearly every type of project. Ed’s skills have been orientated toward structural analysis and design of steel and concrete structures. Presently, Ed’s responsibilities include management of construction materials testing services at RRC.


J. Edward Vasquez, PE
West Texas Group Manager
Midland, TX

Edward is an RRC Associate and a founding member. He manages the West Texas geotechnical and construction operations from the Midland office. Edward has a background in materials science and is a licensed civil engineer in both Texas and New Mexico. He has developed a reputation as a problem solver in geotechnical and construction issues. Edward’s responsibilities include technical review of RRC geotechnical and CMT deliverables, management of geotechnical investigations, proposals, and report preparation. He manages geotechnical studies throughout the West Texas region. Projects include oil/gas compressor stations, pipelines, commercial developments, industrial facilities, municipal projects, and high-end residential. Edward is also RRC’s Safety Coordinator, chairs our Safety Committee, and manages RRC’s accounts with ISNetworld, BROWZ, and PICs.


Lenwood (Lee) Adams, PE, CFM, CAPM
Civil Engineering Group Manager
Round Rock, TX

Lee’s extensive experience includes work in both public and private sectors and ranges from infrastructure design to hydrology and hydraulics, as well as construction, environmental, geotechnical and materials engineering. He is accomplished in governmental relations, project and program management, and management of all phases of investigations, design development, and project execution. Lee’s expansive background affords RRC the ability to address any civil engineering design, environmental and geotechnical engineering on a wide range of projects. His group is currently active in wind and solar civil design as well as site design in oil field related activities.


Samuel Moser, PE
Electrical Group Manager
Tualatin, OR

Sam is RRC’s Electrical Group Manager. He has considerable experience in the industrial and electrical utility sectors as well as the renewable energy market. With a focus on solar and wind projects, Sam has performed project management, field service, and design for more than 40 different utilities, petrochemical, water treatment, and manufacturing companies. His experience spans from initial interconnection processes, through bidding, design, and construction phases. Sam’s services are based on strong communication, timely response and working alongside as a team member with our clients.
